Liability Insurance for uninsured person to pain a section of my house

An uninsured person is willing to paint a section of my house for a fee. What do I have to do to protect myself in case he is injured on the job? The job will take about three days of work.

Dear Sir/Madam:

Good question, and good forethought. You would be wise to have in writing that the painter holds you harmless for any and all injuries he may sustain while performing the job. Both you and he should sign this argeement. Also make clear in the agreement that he/she is an independent contractor, and not an employee of yours.

Good luck.
