Legal Question in Employment Law in Massachusetts

my employer accidentally took all the checks to his house in maine when he went on vaca on friday. He told me that i could wait until monday when he got back or have the secretary cut me a check. Now today is monday the owner of the company tells me the man with the checks will not be back until after six tonight. too late for me to cash my check. He began to state "I don't know what to tell you." also telling me they couldnt cut me another check. After talking with him he continue to be rude and unhelpful. what can i do?
