Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Massachusetts

Interest on last month rent

My landlord never provided me with a statement that indicated that I was entitled to the interest paid on my last month's rent. He did not give me my interest nor he deducted from my rent upon a year of tenancy. What do I do?

Re: Interest on last month rent

If your landlord did indeed mishandle your security deposit or last month's rent payment, you may be entitled to an immediate return of said money.

A violation of the Massachsuetts Security Deposit law also violates Massachusetts Consumer Protection Law, entitling you to a variety of remedies, including an immediate return of your money, triple damages, and interest, depending on your situation.
