Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Massachusetts

Wrong diagnosis

My mother got hurt at work in late 2006.She went on workers comp. after living with no money and going from comp dr to comp dr she settled her case. A month later they finally allowed her to go to a Dr in Boston where he diagnosed her with RSD.She is now permanantly and totally disabled and living on Social Security. Had she been diagnosed properly she would have never settled the case but she had no idea that she would never be able to work again. She is now always depressed. The pain that she has from this disease is chronic and severe. Is there anything she can do at this point? They provide all the medical on the arm that is injured. Can any of the Dr's that misdiagnosed her be held responsible?
