Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts

I rec'd a letter from attorney of apartment where I live saying they are not renewing my lease. The letter says I have until the end of my lease to find a new apt., because I have been late with my rent in the past. My rent is paid to date now. I am looking for another apt. but can they kick me out, even if my rent is paid up to date?

They can evict you once your lease expires. You can fight it. If they gave you at least 30 days notice of their intent not to renew, they will begin eviction proceedings if you do not vacate by the end of the lease.

If you need more time than they gave you, contact them and they may agree to extend your occupancy for 30 days but will likely you to require a deed of surrender so if you do not vacate as agreed they can evict you very quickly.

I recommend you find a new apartment ASAP.
