Legal Question in Tax Law in Massachusetts

What happens to an attorney who is caught by IRS committing tax fraud in the sum of approx. $46,000 as far as the BBO goes and his license? Is the BBO made aware of it by IRS?

I don't believe the BBO will automatically be made aware, but if an attorney was convicted of tax fraud, the BBO would certainly take interest in the matter and potentially discipline the attorney.

If the attorney was convicted of criminal tax fraud, he would be disciplined. If he was fined for civil tax fraud if the BBO were made aware they would take notice of it and as Attorney Vaughn-Martel stated he might be disciplined.
