Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Michigan

Small Claims

I own an event planning company. I solicited a printing company for invitations. My client decided to pay all the provers directly and pay myself one flat fee. She had contact with the printing company and gave credit card for initial payment which was processed. She since has callled printer and said she does not to pay remaining balance because she decided she did not want to use items that were printed. The printer company is now suing me, saying he legally cannot sue her since i had most dealings with him. I go to court this coming monday and am worried i may not win based on the fact that the printer said he legally had to sue me. thank you

Re: Small Claims

Your argument is that the printer knew that you represented another party.......that you were only acting as the agent of the other party and therefore, you would not incur any personal responsibility. It matters if you signed the contract or made the contract orally in your own name instead of for another person. William S. Stern
