Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

Question

Is there a ''Statute if limitations'' on a court mandated reporter. A pastor covered up a Molestation of a 15 yr old 7 years ago by his brother in law Youth Pastor. The truth has come out by the perpetrater's confession in the last 2 months. The pastor is still lying and twisting facts and demeaning the girls charactor to make excuses for not reporting the crime or even removing the youth pastor from his position. The church is telling me there is a 2 year statute of limitations on a court mandated reporter, the pastor, from the victims 18th birthday.

Re: Question

I'm not sure what you mean by a "court mandated reporter," but the statute of limitation for a CRIMINAL Case is not the same as CIVIL. If the youth pastor committed a crime, it should be reported to the police immediately for investigation. If it is civil, the Statute is probably two years.
