Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Michigan

I need some advice...Last night I was drunk and one of the bus drivers call Department of Public Safety saying there was someone drunk (me) waiting at the bus stop. DPS then talked to me. The cops were really nice, they asked if I had been drinking. I said yes a few drinks. I sobered up well enough to have a good conversation and the cops said they didn't want to but since someone called it in they had to give me an MIP (minor in possesion charge). Now I have to go to court and I dont know if I should contest or not. They didn't breathalyze me so they have no solid evidence. If I plead guilty I have to do community service, go to a couple classes, and pay $350 (which is money I don't have), and then go 6 months without an incident. What should I do? Is contesting a viable option?

You admitted to the consumption, which will be used against you at a trial. I think you would best be served with an advisement, to keep it off your criminal record. Visit me at kliszlaw.com to discuss. Tim Klisz
