Legal Question in DUI Law in Michigan

Must I claim to be completely alcohol free, to reinstate my MI license?

in 2001, I was convicted of my 3rd

impared charge. The first 2 were

each about 5-6 years apart. My MI

license has been suspended since

'01. I'd now like to apply for

reinstatement. If I admit to

enjoying a glass of wine with dinner,

will I shoot down my chances of

getting my license back?

Re: Must I claim to be completely alcohol free, to reinstate my MI license?

You must testify under oath that you have been abstinent from alcohol for at least one year - no exceptions. That's the minimum.

Be cause you're a 3d timer, the presumption is that you are an alcoholic. You either must rebut this presumption completely or prove to the examiner that you have taken effective steps to deal with your alcoholism.

Your post suggests that you just don't get it.
