Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

child custody

My brother's girlfriend recently moved out, taking their 4 month old daughter. He has completely provided for her since she was born. The mother has not worked, therefore he has paid her car insurance and has a cell phone for her in his name. They have been living with my parents so they too have been supporting her with food, babysitting, clothese for the baby, etc. What are his rights? What should he do now, before she takes him to court for child support?

Re: child custody

Your brother can and should IMMEDIATELY meet with an experienced family law attorney. It is probable that if he does not move quickly to protect his rights, he'll be in a much worse position soon. For additional information go to:

Re: child custody

He has the right to petition the court for sole custody, joint custody, or simply visitation. What he does will effect the child support paid. See a lawyer. William S. Stern
