Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Divorce

4 years of marriage, am I entitled to Husbands 401K and Pension? Am I responsible for debts acquired by my Husband without my knowledge, ie... Credit Card, Business and Internet? I gave up my profitable business in another state to follow my Husband to Michigan because his job transfered him and due to the economy I have been unable to establish it again, am I entitled to any alimony?

Re: Divorce

Your questions are very complex, very long and without black and white answers for the most part. Generally, you'd be entitled to one half of the marital assets. They include the amount of growth of retirement plans during the marriage. My recommendation is that you meet with a lawyer that practices mostly family law. Only an attorney that is very familiar with the particular aspects of your individual case will be able to advise you properly.

Re: Divorce

You are generally entitled to half of the marital assets that would include half of what was accumulated in the 401k during the marriage. Alimony or in Michigan we call it Spousal Support is probably a no but it depends on all the details of the case. I would recommend you speak to a family law attorney to get more detailed answers to your questions.
