Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Michigan Annulment

I have been married just under one year, my husband suffers from substance abuse issues and is no longer in the home...What would it take to dissolve this marriage before our 1 year anniversary?

Re: Michigan Annulment

Annulments are only granted when certain factors apply and until all the facts are known, it is hard to say whether you would qualify. A divorce or an annulment will cost you about the same if you hire an attorney, so the divorce may be a better solution. Additionally, it will take the same amount of time. If you need help with this, contact my office.

You do not qualify for a divorce. You must file for divorce. It is the same amount of work either way. William S. Stern

Re: Michigan Annulment

You probably won't qualify for an annulment. What county do you live in?
