Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Michigan

I was the middle car in a 3 car rearend accident . The police were called and I was not at fault. I was issued a ticket because I did not have insurance. Can I sue the driver who was at fault for my car damage.

In Michigan, as long as your car was insured, you can sue the at-fault driver for up to $500 property damage.

Without insurance, you can't sue anyone and can be sued yourself.
