Legal Question in Immigration Law in Michigan

need advice

HI, I'm a green card holder and I just married a girl who's a foreigner from Romania who came here in US legally just visiting, but her visa expired ... is there any way that I can help her change her status or to stay legally in the United States. Please let me know, thanks for your time ...

Re: need advice

There is really nothing you can do to help to legalize your wife other than to file for naturalization, assuming you are statutorily eligible. Once you naturalize, your wife will be able to adjust her status in the US. Under no volutary circumstance should your wife leave the US. If she does, if she has overstayed more than 180 days she won't be able to return for 3 or 10 years because of her unlawful presence. (If she overstayed more than 180 days but less than 365 days and she departs, she is barred from returning for 3 years. If she overstayed more than 365 days and she departs, she is barred from returning for 10 years.)
