Re: special registration

You wil have to be VERY CARFUL in weighting your options.

On one hand, you are not in compliance with the terms for special registration, which has now expired. On the other hand, and this is a sad truth, nonimmigrants who during the registration period presented themselves for fingerprinting have been often detained and/or deported even for minor past immigration violations (and some even while they where lawfully waiting adjustment of status).

I am hesitant to recommend one course of action over the other for the obvious potentially devastanting consequences.

Whatever you do, I reccomend that you retain an attorney before and discuss the matter at length with him/her.
