Legal Question in Military Law in Michigan

Negligent death

What are the sattutes of limitations for filing a negligent death suitagainst a hospital. My father in law was a patient in weakened physical condition and was in a psychiatric ward in hospital. He was found dead with a belt around his neck by staff. The hospital ruled his death a suicide. Should he have had a belt, and are they not held to some liability? Thank you.

Re: Negligent death

This is an issue that you really need to talk to a Michigan attorney about. Each state has different statutes of limitation first of all, and second, different ones that apply to different types of cases within the state.

Contact the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association for a list of their members who live close to you. Generally, there is no fee for the initial consultation in a case such as this.

Do not wait however, as some States have short periods within which to begin legal actions.

Good Luck!
