Legal Question in Personal Injury in Michigan

About 1.5 years ago I hit a parked car, but there was no damage done to the vehicle so I left the scene. A witness called the cops and I ended up with a ticket for failure to stop and identify. What constitutes an accident in which you have to stay on the scene? How much damage must be done to constitute an accident?
