Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan

I brought a house with mr girlfriend (mistake I know). We have broken up and she still leaves in the house, problem is house is in my name and I dont want it to be if she lives there. How can I get it out of my name if she refuses to do any of the leg work to get it her name?

I assume from your statement that the house is in your name only. In that case, your former girlfriend is a tenant who can be evicted like anyone else. A threat to evict her may suffice, and it may not; if not, then you would have to proceed to Court to evict her.

Your former girlftiend has a claim against you for the money she contributed to the house. That is a separate legal matter that should not impact her ability to stay at the house. A judge may want to "bend" the law due to that payment, but she would have to pursue that claim.

Please let me know if we can be of further assistance.

If you want it out of your name, you can just deed it to her. Very simple stuff, but you will have to do the legwork if she won't.
