Purchase Agreement
My 74-year-old mother signed a purchase agreement to sell her home. A week later she was rushed to the hospital and underwent a 7.5 hour surgery to remove a malignant brain tumor. We need more time to get her out of the house (for home physical therapy, etc), and the buyer refuses to give us any. Can we get out of this agreement? FYI: You could tell just by looking at her that there was sometime wrong with her at the time she signed the contract.

A purchase agreement is the most important document in the sale of real estate - it controls the terms. While the purchase agreement would have to be reviewed in that regard, to assess its enforceability, if your mother was not in her "right mind" due to medical reasons, the contract might be voidable.
