Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan

Theft from Foreclosure House before Close

Hello! I was hoping to find advice regarding a situation that just arose during the process of buying a foreclosed house from the bank. My husband and I came to a price agreement with the seller (bank) on a house that included a hot tub. 2 weeks later, during the inspection, it was discovered that hot tub had been stole (it was there 4 days prior to the inspection). The Closing Date is not for another month, and I'd love to know if there is a reimbursement or some compensation I can request from the seller. The house was stated to be sold 'as is', but the hot tub was part of that 'as is' when the offer was negotiated and accepted by both parties. Any advice would be GREAT! Thanks so much!

you are certainly in a strong legal position, but the bank might not care. If you would like to discuss in great detail contact me at www.kliszlaw.com to discuss. Tim Klisz
