If assets are in the form of scottrade account and Edward Jones funds with no transfer on death plan, its it divided per the will or does that all go to the wife first? This would be in michigan and there is a will, but has never been filed with the county. Thank you

If the account is not in joint names and there is no beneficiary of the accounts designated, the personal representative is supposed to liquidate the accounts and place them in an Estate bank account to be divided pursuant to the will. The wife may always elect her share against the will in a probate estate, but that is beyond your question. Please contact me at 888-988-LAWS(5297) or www.johntatone.com to discuss in more detail.
