Friend/ caregiver taking over my aunts property
My aunt passed in Detroit this morning. My mother is her only blood relative besides a cousin. I'm in Dallas now & trying to make arrangements to get us there. My aunt had a friend/caregiver for the past 12 years that has taken over! My aunt was 85 years old! This friend/caregiver is just plain evil. She didn't notify my mother her sister had passed. She took her from the hospital & moved her to a home without notifying my mother. My mother found out through calling the hospital checking on her condition & they told her she was gone, her daughter moved her. My aunt HAS NO CHILDREN! This woman has munipulated everyone and put her name on as the contact person for everything as her daughter! Before my aunt got really sick she gave my mother her doctor information and pastors name. My mother called the doctors office this morning to confirm my aunts death and was told they couldn't give her the information, only her ''daughter.'' She does not have a daughter, she does have a sister! This woman allowed people to take my aunts things out of her house. This information was giving to my mother by my aunts neighbor because she too got something. The friend/caregiver just notified me her name is on the insurance and will. She is not related!

She does't have to be related to be on the will and the insurance. If you want to contest the will, you would have to show that your aunt did not have sufficient mental capacity to name the caretaker as beneficiary of the will or the insurance. This is very difficult and very expensive.
