Power of Attorney vs Conservator
What is the role of the POA when an outside conservator is appointed by the court? Does the POA continue to act as liason between the client and the conservator?

There can be a conservator of either the person or the estate. If of the person, the person with the POA continues to have authority over financial matters and the conservator makes health-care decisions. If a conservator of the estate was appointed, either (1) the POA was limited or not durable, (2) the court decided the POA was not valid, or (3) the court did not know of the POA. Any of these 3 present potentially complicated questions that require more detailed involvement of an attorney in order to address.
