Re: Felony Record

Probably.

An employer in an at-will employment state such as Indiana can fire an employee for good reason, bad reason, or no reason -- just not an illegal reason (illegal typically being those reasons that are statutorily prohibited, i.e., race, sex, age, religion, disability, and a few state reasons). They cannot use a reason that facially appears to be valid, but which is in fact a pretext to cover their real reason, if that real reason is a prohibited reason.

Finding an employee with a felony record may be a valid reason and would likely hold up in most courts, so long as there was not evidence that they allowed others with felony records to work, but only fired those who were female, older than 40, Baptist, and black, and had a severe limp.
