Legal Question in Family Law in Mississippi

separation - stop spouse from introducing girlfriend to kids

My husband left after 16 years of marriage because of his high school sweetheart(mid-life crisis). Our three children live with me. He rarely sees them. He wants them to meet his girlfriend and spend time with her and her son. We have raised our children in church, I do not think this is appropriate while we are married. No divorce has been filed. Can I do anything to stop my husband from dragging the children into this? They are 13 years and twins 9 years old.

This response is not confidential and is not based on any particularized research. It is based on my general experience, and only the limited facts in your email. No attorney-client relationship is formed.

You will need to file for separate maintenance and support and obtain a temporary order that includes appropriate protective provisions for child visitation.
