Legal Question in Immigration Law in Mississippi

Hi, I am an international student graduating in May and getting married at the same time to an American girl. My questions are, how long will the green card process take and can I travel out of the country and return after a month with a conditional green card or should I wait for a permanent green card before I travel out of the country? How long does it take for a permanent green card to be approve? Thanks so much

It takes 6 months and you may travel out of the US and return once the advance parole is received (usually 3 months after filing for your adjustment of status).
