Legal Question in Social Security Law in Mississippi
SSi Status after recieving inheritance
A friend, dependent on SSI for years, now can possibly be the recipient of inheritance in the near future. This money will not be sizable enough to sustain him. If he receives the money, he understands he will lose his SSI eligibility and associated medical coverage. BUT....will he be able to invest the money to improve the home he will get? A hottyb and roof repairs will use most of the money.

That's something HE needs to deal with.
There may be exceptions if he uses all the money for home improvement related to his disability.
