Re: Child Abandonment

You would file an action in Jackson County, MO to formally establish the father-child relationship and get a custody order which grants you sole legal and phsycial custody of the child. Since you don't know where she is you will have to publish notice of the legal action in a legal newspaper, etc. Once you have jumped through the procedural hoops then you can get your court order. I would estimate that it will take about 75 to 90 from the date of publication because of timing rules to get a final order. If you want help in this matter please contact my office.
