Can you get out of a ticket if the cop dont make you sign the ticket
1 Answer from Attorneys
Yes. Siging the ticket, is merely and acknowledgement that you know about the allegation. that yiou broke aparticualr law or violated an ordinance. In the the distamnt past, they arrested you and you posted bod, to acknolwledge that you knew of the allegation. They still do that for crimes. But, for trafic and minor misdemenaor cases, it is more economical to have the defendant merely sign the ticket, to acknowledge that you know fo the offense they accused of. IF the defendant doe snto sign, they may be able to argue that they did nto know about the alelgation and it coudl excuse thier absence form court. If the defendant is arrested, as is common in DUI cases, the argument to say they did not know about the allegations is somewhat tougher to make,
Good luck
