Legal Question in Elder Law in Missouri

I am the granddaughter of an alzheimer's patient grandmother and a grandfather with rapidly deteriorating health. I have been living with them for many years (over ten) on their rural property, helping take care of it, and now them. They have few assets, and if they need to go to a nursing home, they will probably also need to go on medicaid. Where would that leave me?

If both leave the house and go on Medicaid to pay for nursing care, the State of Missouri may take control of the property to curtail the expenses to the state. This cna happen at the time fo moiving to the nursing home, or when the second passes, depending upon how the property is titled. The grandfather may be able to execute a benficary deed, or both may be able to excute a quick claim deed to their natural heirs. But, if htey use Medicaid in less than three years after they execute the deed, they State may have if nullified.

Good Luck
