Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

I know a grandmother that has custody of her granddaughter and the mother has supervised visitation that the court ordered. The grandmother recently just gave the granddaughter back to the mother without going to court. Is it ok for her to do this since the court said mother only gets supervised visitation? This court case is in Missouri.

Under the facts you described, the garndmother may be subject to liability to the child, and possibly her father. Disobeying the Order of the Court, could be sufficient grounds for tgeh father to seek custoidy of the child. Or, if the unsupervised overnight stays nwitht the mother are going weel, she may be able to get custody of the child, or at least have the supervised proviso lifted. If you are concerned about the safety of the child, you might consult directly with a family law attorney in your area. If you feel the child is in imminent danger, call child services, or the police.

Good luck
