Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri
My husband and his ex-wife talked about putting braces on their daughter about 5 months ago and we told her we couldnt afford it yet, and yesterday she tells us out of the blue she is getting started on it today, we cant afford it right now and my husband never agreed to this, are we still responsible for half of this cost.

Does your husband have a copy of the Dissolution of Marriage Judgment? If so, does it provide for him to have joint legal custody? In many cases we provide that the parents will share in any expenses incurrede by agreement, but where one parent unilaterally incurs such expense, that parent shall be finacially responsible. I would have to review the actual legally determinative documents before I could provide an opinion on your husbands legal rights or duties.
