Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

Ex (we were never married) is telling me that he has right to our child once she is born no matter what. However he married someone else two weeks after we found out I was pregnant and still continued a relationship with me. I did not find out about the marriage until 5 months later. Ever since I found out and comfronted him he has been verbally abusive and blackmailing me to keep the baby a secret. His wife does not know about the baby and he told me via text that he only married her to get her children, then he is going to divorce her and take me to court for mine with money he borrowed while we were together. I don't want my daughter in this mess, its been stressful and Im now scared for our saftey. Would any of this be grounds where I can ask for me to get sole custody and have a good chance because of his actions? Or even only allow supervised visitation?

If you tell the hospital that your child,s paternity. This will prevent the man from taking the baby from the hospital. Then, when the child is born, you can seek child support from the assumed father. If he borrowed the money from you, you may need to rake him to small claims court befpre the baby is born. This may prevent him from using your money to sue you.

You may be able to get an attorney to help you for little or no money. Go see one.

Good luck
