Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Missouri

Dumb question, but just wondering

If you are in a relationship with

somebody and you decide to end it, and

she is so heart broken or whatever and

decides she is going to commit suicide,

can her family sue you for anything?

Re: Dumb question, but just wondering

Unless you actively facilitated her death by providing the sleeping pills or the gun, or the poison by which she decided to end her life, the answer is no.

Whatever impact the loss of the relationship had, the decision to commit suicide is hers and hers alone. She made that decision, not you, and if she is dumb enough to kill herself over you, then Darwin was right and its a good thing she's been eliminated from the gene pool.

A lawsuit against you would have no basis.
