Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Missouri

I was laid off for three weeks from work told my landlady this and that I was going to start a new job on oct 20th. And I would not be able to my back rent and November rent for November until I got paid onNovember 7th. She was fully aware of this and then the day of the 7th she file an eviction order. Did not know this and dropped off my rent took them 5 days to tell me they filed and would not accept my rent. Can I claim this in court and be fine. That I did give her verbal warning. But conviently the people I rent from replaced the manager I told this too.

Unfortunately, telling your landlord that your rent payment will be late, does not relieve you of the obligation to pay rent on time. Unless you get your rent payments current by the time the case is called, it is likely that the Judge will grant an Order fit for eviction.

Good luck
