Legal Question in Personal Injury in Missouri

statute of limitations

I was involved in an accident on 5-2-97 in the state of Missouri that shattered my ankle.. The other party's insurance has paid most medical bills so far, and I just had my final surgery. The claims adjuster that I am dealing with assures me that the statute of limitations for Missouri is 5 years to settle out this claim. I am from Illinois and so is the insured. Is this information correct? Or, if I don't have everything settled or a suit filed by 5-2-99 am I high and dry with my bills?

Re: statute of limitations

You need to pick up the phone an call a Missouri attorney right now. Any Plaintiff Personal Injury lawyer should know the answer to that question.

Be careful here...You are taking advice fromt eh insurance company who doesn't really want to pay you. The adjuster is also not a lawyer.

Given the seriousness of your injury you should consider hiring a lawyer.

If you want some help finding one please feel free to call or e-mail.
