Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Missouri

New home

Before we purchased our new house we were given a plat/lot lay out. On the paper it was nearly 1/3 of an acre. We moved in and the sod was laid on ''our property'' and it is no where near the dimensions given to us by the realtor and we are now( after we purchased the home) we are being told the lot was changed 3 years ago and we don't have near the yard that was on the paper work that was given to us prior to the purhase. Are we ''stuck'' with this lot or do we have a legal leg to stand on?

Re: New home

Go based upon the title transfer documents and what the title insurance policy covered. Do not rely on previous sketches or what someone "says" now what your property boundaries are. Keep the sketches, as you may need them as evidence in a future suit against the seller, broker, agent or title insurer.

Good Luck
