Legal Question in Traffic Law in Missouri

I recieved a ticket for "car followed another vehicle too closely resulting in a crash." I am not sure if this is serious enough where I should get a lawyer or take care of it myself? Should I plead guilty or not guilty?

A conviction can caus eyour insurance to go up and your licens eto take ahit. It can also be used as evidence agianst you at trial for the damages sufferend by the other driver. In some situations it can be used to deny your application for employment.

Determine what your diring record is, how much your insurance will go up, and whether you are likely to get sued, apply for a job, or change insurers in the next few years. The decision whether to plead guilty or not, is one that each individual makes based upon their own criteria. It will likely cost you a few hundred more in the short term, but could save you thousands over the next few years. Many people that have the funds now opt to pay now and not pay more in the future.

Good luck

If I were facing this charge there is absolutely no doubt that I would hire an attorney. There are too many possible negative consequences that will follow a conviction. An attorney may be able to defend the charge or negotiate a plea bargain that would be in your best interest.
