Re: while hurt is my job secure??

Entire books have been written to try to address this question. That is because the answer depends on the interplay between several state and federal laws. Among them are the Family Medical Leave Act, the Missouri Workers' Compensation Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. This space is not sufficient to provide an analysis of those inter-related laws.

In an effort to give you a straight answer, I must say that your job is not completely secure. If your company must fill your position in order to function, the employer may do so. But the employer may NOT fire you solely because you filed a workers' compensation claim. That could lead to a wrongful discharge lawsuit. Consult an experienced workers' compensation or employment law attorney.
