Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Montana
who owns the one-room school house building?
I own land in Montana. There is a one-room school house on the property that has not held classes for three years. The building was built on the property in 1921. There is no paperwork in the courthouse on ownership. Do I own the building?

Your question pertains to Montana law. I think you would do well to consult an attorney admitted to practice law in Montana. But, generally, unless excepted specifically in the Deed underwhich you took title to the land, you would also get title to permanent strucures on the land. You should still consult a Montana attorney before destroying or razing it.
Good Luck,
