Legal Question in Business Law in Nevada

Powers of Resident Agent in a corporation

Can you please tell me if the resident agent when incorporating a company and thereafter has any power in the company? Do they have any 'say so' on what goes on in a corporation? Thank you!

The resident agent only has the power to accept service of process of any lawsuits. You may want to call our office Tuesday for a consultation with regard for the disadvantages of just this service.

Thank you for your inquiry.

Typically, the "resident agent" only accepts lawsuits within that state, but does not have power over managing a corporation.

I hope that this answer helps, but if you have other questions, want more information, or feel that you need legal representation, please feel free to email me directly at [email protected]. I'm happy to help in any way that I can.

Your question does not include some information. Are you referring to an agent for the service of process, which only has the ability to accept legal service for the corporation, or are you referring to an agent designated to do business for the company. Generally such agents do not have corporate authority, although it depends on the size of the company, unrelated to the fact that he/she is designated a corporate agent.
