Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

Filing orders

When, after you attended a court hearing, is the order supposed to be filed? I attended a court hearing in July granting me permission to move the children out of the state. My ex's attorney stated that he would prepare the order. The judge stated that was agreeable.

I have never received a copy of the order, I then called the courts and found out that the order was never filed. What do I do?

Re: Filing orders

When the other attorney does not prepareor submit an Order you need to prepare the order yourself or have your attorney prepare and submit the Order for the Judge's signature.

Re: Filing orders

Have your attorney prepare and submit the order to the judge and contact the opposing attorney's bar association and file a complaint. He told the court he would prepare and submit the order and has not done so in 5 months; that should at least get attorney reprimanded by the bar and the court.
