Re: length for a divorce

If both parties agree it should take 3 weeks. You can go through the self-help center or a paralegal for under 1K.

Re: length for a divorce

It costs thousands when parties disagree regarding custody or division of property and debt issues. If you have reached an agreement, my firm charges $1,500 and prepares all the documents you and your spouse need to sign to get a divorce. An unconteted divorce takes roughly 3 to 4 weeks to complete.

Re: length for a divorce

If both parties agree on everything and there are no special circustance like custody problems or a large amount of assets, papers are submitted to the Court and the Judge will sign them in 2-4 weeks.

Costs for this vary somewhat depending on the circumstances. My firm will do the paperwork for some uncontested divorces for $499 but, again, I would have to speak to you to see if you truly have a simple, uncontested divorce.
