Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

Live-in girlfriend's rights

In June 04 my girlfriend moved in with me in my home,at my request. We were also engaged about that time. Things have not worked out as expected and based on our differences and her feelings, she is angry, the engagement is off, and she has said she is moving out, which I did not dispute or ask her not to.Now she is threatening me with legal action claiming I am responsible for her moving expenses and a few other expenses, since, as she says, ''You begged me to move in here''. She is also threatening extortion by ''telling people things about you''.She says she is keeping her rings and selling them, and also is due to inherit $15K the end of April, so she is by no means dependedent on me for moving expenses. During the 9 months that she lived in my home, she did contribute about $600/mo for living expenses+ bought food sometimes. But 6 months ago,I gave her $3,000 to get her out of credit debt and legal action,so it isn't like I totally supported her during the period of her living with me, but I certainly contributed several thousand dollars for her well being. The 3K was not a loan per se, and not a gift either, just sort of ''here, I'll help you out and maybe someday when you have the means, you'll help me'' Can she win legally?

Re: Live-in girlfriend's rights

This is something that would have to be sorted out in Small Claims Court. I don't think either of you are obligated to the other under the circumstances.
