Legal Question in Employment Law in Nevada

Fired from employment

Can an employer fire an employee with a disability? Can you give me specific examples of disability discrimination? For example, if my employer was aware after they hired me I had an illness, such as having hypothyroidism, which is generally controlled by medication but can have relapses. If I made them aware of my condition because my work was lapsing (even though I did my best and was once considered a good employee)but they fire me anyways. Is that considered disability discrimination?

Re: Fired from employment

This is potentially a good claim. The difficulty is that the employer may cite substandard work. In the end, your burden is to establish the intent of the employer.

Also, hypothyroidism is usually accompanied by something more serious. Is there an accompanying condition occurring in this matter.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance or can consult on this matter.

Thank you.
