Legal Question in Personal Injury in Nevada

Personal Loan in NV

I had a personal loan with no contract in the state of NV with an Ex friend. They made a few payments but nothing in full. Do I have a case that I can take to the courts?

Re: Personal Loan in NV

There are two issues. The first is how can you prove you made the loan? What writings, if any, evidence the loan. I understand you said there was no contract. But, do you have a check made to ex-friend. Were payments made by checks that might have a notation on them such as, "$100 toward loan of $1500?" If everything was cash, it doesn't look promising.

Second, even if you could get a court judgment against ex-friend could you collect on it?

This is a case an attorney would want to be paid upfront to represent you w/o giving you any guarantee of winning. You can represent yourself in small claims court.
