Legal Question in Family Law in New Hampshire

a woman's legal rights in a divorse in New Hampshire

my husband and myself will be mediating over a accident settlement in a dollar figure of 1.5 million to 2.0 million. He wants to invest. What he doesn't know is I want a divorse. After 14 years of living hell whether the settlement had happened or not it would have ended. What are my legal rights in this situation. I am a 44 and a mother of a 14 year old girl. There are other investments that need diving also.

Re: a woman's legal rights in a divorse in New Hampshire

In New Hampshire, assets in a divorce are divided "equitably". That means 50/50 but then other factors are looked at to perhaps make a different allocation that is more equitable . The length of the marriage, the age, education of the parties, fault, etc.

Feel free to call my partner Michael Gfroerer at 603-228-1151 because that is his main legal focus.
