Legal Question in Employment Law in New Hampshire

Was my termination legal?

I was a wedding coordinator for a nearby facility. I have a lot of experience and I was excellent at my job (co-workers and client can support this). My boss (VP) was a difficult person and tough to work for. I decided to talk to the owner about my boss. The owner told me to talk to my boss directly then after I talked to by boss, if I still had issues then the owner would talk to me. When talking to my direct boss he yelled at me for going over his head and talked down to me until I was sobbing and had to leave. When I came to work the next day he fired me on the spot. Was this legal? Am I entitled to severance pay? What should I do?

Thank you.

Re: Was my termination legal?

What you failed to say, is the specific nature of your employment relation/contract with your employer. Barring certain protective language or behavior based on gender, or another protective class, you are usually an employee-at-will, subject to termination either for no reason or any reason.
