Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Hampshire

can I pay my property taxes with a credit card. I have to pay my property taxes for 2007 by 11/04/2010. I thought I already paid my property taxes for 2007. But they sent me a certified letter saying that I have until 11/04/2010 to paid it or they will executed my deed what ever that means. Nobody or myself have the 3000.00 to paid it. I won't have that until I get my income tax. But my sister offer to pay it for me with her credit card so I was wondering if I can used her card to pay for the property taxes

In order to answer your question you will need to call the Tax Collector for the municipality where the property is located. Some communities will take credit cards, others are not equipped to process credit transactions.

As to your 2007 taxes, if you think you paid them, you should search your cancelled checks and bank records for proof. It is rare for a tax collector to make this type of error, but it is possible.
